Is It Possible to Earn from Home as a Psychic?

The idea of online psychic jobs has always intrigued me. Personally, I find the mystery behind tarot cards and palm readings fascinating, though I’m not a psychic myself. I’m certainly not the Long Island Medium, capable of speaking with the dead or predicting the future. But when I started looking into it, it seemed like anyone could potentially work as a psychic.

Curious to know more, I decided to dive deeper and figure out what working from home as a psychic entails. Are these jobs legitimate? And perhaps the most important question is: can you make a good living doing this?

Let’s Get Real

I’ll admit that calling a psychic hotline or chatting with an online psychic has never been on my to-do list. Even if I did, I’m skeptical about receiving any life-altering information. In reality, I believe a lot of these conversations are simply about allowing people to express their feelings, whether it’s about life, love, or heartache. Letting people talk can be therapeutic. Just like therapy, having someone to listen to can be invaluable. In a world where not everyone has someone to turn to, the opportunity to open up to a stranger who has no prior knowledge of your life can be both freeing and, for some, absolutely necessary.

I experienced the benefits of therapy about 10 years ago after a family loss. Talking to someone helped me navigate that difficult time. However, I’m aware that therapy can be costly without insurance. I also know that psychic hotlines can quickly add up in cost, so neither option is exactly cheap. But while psychic services are certainly not a substitute for professional therapy, there’s still a market for both, and people are willing to pay.

Who Can Be a Psychic?

Some individuals possess genuine psychic abilities. I enjoy watching shows like Long Island Medium and honestly believe that Theresa Caputo isn’t faking it. What she does is incredible, and I’m certain she’s earning an impressive income from her work. However, what about people like you and me? Most of us don’t have spirits trying to communicate with us from beyond the grave.

After a quick online search for “psychic jobs,” I was surprised to find several listings on job sites like Indeed. Most positions are for independent contractors, allowing flexibility in setting your hours. Some postings ask for experience, while others don’t seem to mind if you’re a beginner. It makes sense that experience would be beneficial, especially when building a loyal client base. Confidence comes with practice, after all. Interestingly, some platforms make it very simple to get started—just sign up, set your rate, create a profile, and you’re in business.

A Little Respect

I respect anyone who works hard to make a living. I genuinely believe in spirits, angels, and the possibility of psychic abilities. There’s so much out there that defies explanation, and I wouldn’t pretend to understand it all. I’ve seen enough to give credit to psychics for the work they do. That said, after looking at a few job postings, I realized that even I could sign up as a psychic. And trust me, I don’t have psychic abilities. But I’m a great listener, I have a decent phone voice, and yes—I even have a landline.

There are some platforms that require applicants to go through evaluations, where you may have to perform a reading. Passing these tests would grant access to their network. This process feels more legitimate, though it’s unclear how strict or thorough these evaluations are. If anyone has firsthand experience, I’d love to hear about it in the comments.

Can You Make Money from Psychic Jobs?

Naturally, I was curious about the earning potential, so I checked out PayScale for the average income of a psychic. The numbers were crazy!

Psychic Pay Per Hour

Yes, there’s money to be made, but it varies widely depending on the platform and even the location. Some companies allow you to set your own rate. I found one listing that paid 30 cents per minute and another that claimed you could earn over $1,000 per week. The range is substantial, but most sites suggest you need to invest a minimum of 20 hours per week to see a decent income.

Like many independent contractor jobs, the more effort you put in, the more you’ll likely earn. The best times to work seem to be in the evenings or late at night when call volumes are highest. If you can commit to 30+ hours a week, making a living might be possible.

Final Thoughts

I won’t lie—this whole thing is fascinating to me. I’m at a point in my career where I’m exploring new options, looking for something exciting and meaningful. Am I psychic? No. Do I enjoy talking to people and listening to their concerns? Absolutely. Would I like to learn tarot cards? Definitely. I’ve had a tarot deck for two years and have yet to find time to learn it. Is this about witchcraft or something sinister? Not at all.

The idea of a flexible, work-from-home career where you help people through their worries sounds pretty appealing.

What about you? Could you see yourself doing this full-time? Have you ever worked as a psychic before? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments. Below, I’ve included a job board link from Indeed with current psychic job openings if you’re curious or considering taking the plunge.
